1890-91 Walking Suit Recreation from Patterns of Fashion 2

This 1890-91 walking suit recreation took me around 400 hours to hand sew!

To date, it is one of the most time-consuming projects I have worked on. The pattern is from Patterns of Fashion 2, taken directly from extant garments. Made from a terracotta cotton twill and lined with a black linen, the elements I made include the bodice, walking skirt, and decorating the straw boater hat.
