Victorian Weather-Resistant Oilskin Cloak

Oilskin is quite a phenomenal weather-resistant material. Often a base of cotton, linen, or wool that is then oiled or waxed to give it water-resistant properties, this material exists during contemporary times, but we have 15th-century sailors to thank for its widespread use. I made my own completely hand sewn oilskin cloak in a Victorian style in order to protect my garments from the rain. I’ve worn it out during a downpour and it kept me completely dry, so it actually works!
